Oculus Rift Public Presentation @ the HackLab.to – Sat, April 11th, 2015
HackLab.TO prepares to welcome public was an article presented in the Metro discussing the our Public open house. As a member of the HackLab.to, I, Joseph Ellsworth, realized the buzz Virtual Reality and Oculus Rift could add to the Saturday, April 11th Open House. We had individuals on site discussing all aspects of the HackLab talking about, 3d printing, laser cutting, diyBio, Arduino, electronics, hacking, and of course great technology such as the Oculus Rift.
On average an open house at the HackLab would bring in between 2-5 individuals, for this particular event in combination with the New Location, a new diyBio area, News coverage in the Metro, and the chance to experience the Oculus Rift DK2, we pulled in 76 new individuals to tour the space. Of the 76 new individuals, 47 of them tried out a great Oculus Rift DK2 experience and was the primary reason for their attendance, while waiting we ensured each of these people had a chance to receive a tour of the HackLab, essentially a ‘captive’ audience. Including members at HackLab checking out the demos we provided over 50+ quality Oculus Rift DK2 demos that day! A great success for HackLab, as well as VBARealities premiere event.
